Objective <p>Benign tumors of the parotid gland are the most common salivary gland diseases, Conventional parotid surgery often leads to various complications that severely affect the postoperative quality of life of patients.</p> Methods <p>This study included 400 patients with clinically benign tumors in the tail of the parotid gland, divided into two groups: one group received the classical surgical method, and the other group received the new surgical method.Through postoperative follow-up, the differences in postoperative quality of life between the two groups were compared by recording the incidence of temporary facial paralysis, facial depression deformity, scar satisfaction, and Frey’s syndrome.</p> Results <p>The new surgical group demonstrated a marked reduction in subjective Frey’s syndrome incidence (12 cases [6%] vs. 24 cases [12%] in 200 patients). The new surgical group also exhibited significantly reduced postoperative drainage volume, intraoperative blood loss hospital stay duration, and extubation time, collectively indicating its less invasive nature.Notably, the new surgical group achieved superior facial nerve function outcomes, with significantly lower postoperative facial nerve function scores (1.29 ± 0.16 vs. 2.15 ± 0.28, <i>P</i> &lt; 0.05),. Additionally, the new technique group showed a marked reduction in facial depression deformity scores (0.59 ± 0.16 vs. 1.15 ± 0.48, <i>P</i> &lt; 0.05). Regarding aesthetic outcomes, the new approach achieved higher patient satisfaction (90% vs. 70%, <i>P</i> &lt; 0.05), further underscoring its clinical advantages.</p> Conclusion <p>The new surgical method proposed in this article for benign tumors of the parotid gland can effectively reduce complications and improve the quality of life of patients.</p>
