On the Use of a Microbial Fuel Cell for the Post-treatment of Solid Plant Waste Products
摘要
Abstract
For long-duration interplanetary missions and the establishment of habitable bases on the lunar surface, the presence of regenerative biological life-support systems is a prerequisite for their operation. Microbial fuel cells can be used to remove up to 30% of organic compounds from liquid products of substrate biodegradation. Microbial fuel cells can be used to increase the rate of ammonification in the biodegradation products of potato waste and increase the nitrogen yield in the form of ammonium by 7 times.
