Abstract <p>A new approach to the creation of nanocomposites based on succinyl chitosan and silver nanoparticles is developed. The synthesis of silver nanoparticles from ions is carried out under microwave radiation. For the first time, an antioxidant of plant origin, syringic acid, is used as a reducing agent in such systems. The presence of silver nanoparticles in the obtained colloidal solutions is judged by the appearance of an absorption band in the electron plasmon resonance spectrum (λ<sub>max</sub> = 425–430 nm). It is shown that with an increase in the concentration of syringic acid in the system, the size of the silver nanoparticles formed decreases, and the main fraction of particles with a size of 9 nm is obtained.</p>
