摘要

Abstract

Biosorption experiments were carried out by efficient and eco-friendly adsorbent Coriandrum sativum (CS) seeds powder for the removal of Malachite Green (MG) dye from synthetic solutions. The influence of different parameters such as adsorbent dosage, initial dye concentration, pH, contact time were considered and proved that the biosorption was rapid and efficient for the removal of MG dye. The modelling studies demonstrated that the studied process followed the Langmuir adsorption model and pseudo-second-order model. The adsorption amount was found to be 130.38 mg/g. High removal ability of 99.74% was attained with reducing dye strength of 0.51 mg/L, dosage of 6 g and pH 7 within 40 min equilibration time. The results clearly indicated that the CS powder, a low-cost adsorbent could rapidly remove the MG dye in aqueous solution and can have an application in industrial effluents.
