Abstract
The article presents a list of woody and shrubby plants used in the landscaping of the city of Baku and the Sea Breeze Resort (Republic of Azerbaijan). The list is based on an analysis of published sources and the authors’ own observations. A total of 316 species belonging to 175 genera and 64 families have been identified. Among them are 22 species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as 65 species that are invasive on the territory of neighboring states. For the first time, 18 species are indicated for urban landscaping: Butia capitata (Mart.) Becc., Convolvulus cneorum L., Cuphea sp., Dasylirion sp., Dodonaea viscosa Jacq., Dracaena draco (L.) L., Elaeagnus × submacrophylla Servett. [E. × ebbingei J. Door.], Loropetalum chinense (R.Br.) Oliv., Mesembryanthemum cordifolium L.f., Pinus wallichiana A.B. The increasing volume of landscaping works requires a large number of diverse, decorative, and durable plant species that are resistant to the climatic conditions of Absheron. In this regard, a list of species has been compiled that are promising for use in the landscaping of Baku and the Absheron Peninsula as a whole. This list includes 85 species from 42 families.

Jacks., Polygala myrtifolia L., Pritchardia sp., Syagrus romanzoffiana (Cham.) Glassman [Arecastrum romanzoffianum (Cham.) Becc.], Tamarix gallica L., Vitex trifolia L. var. purpurea, Westringia fruticosa (Willd.) Druce, Yucca gigantea Lem., Y. rostrata Engelm. ex Trel.
