The Influence of Aluminum on the Physical and Mechanical Properties and Corrosion Resistance of Medium-Entropy Al–Co–Fe–C–Mo–W Alloys
摘要
Abstract
The effect of aluminum on the density, compressive strength, and corrosion resistance in a 3.5% aqueous NaCl solution of sintered medium-entropy (0, 2.5, 5)Al–20Co–Fe–30Cr–3Mo–2 W alloy is under consideration. Doping of the alloy with 5 wt % of aluminum contributes to the reduction of density from 8.1 to 7.1 g/cm3 and the specific compressive strength from 118 to 103 (MPa cm3)/g. At the same time, an increase in corrosion resistance is ensured, since the corrosion current density is reduced from 117.7 to 25.6 μA/cm2, and the passivation area is also significantly expanded.
