Abstract

In this work, using the method of the mathematical planning of an experiment, the influence of pressing pressure and time of heating of compacts from highly dispersed PAP-2 powder to the sintering temperature on the process of aluminum carbide synthesis, caused by the presence of stearin on the surface of the powder particles, was investigated. Tensile strength (diametrical compression), hardness, and the results of X-ray diffraction analysis of the sintered material were chosen as the response function, by which it is possible to indirectly or directly judge the degree of synthesis of aluminum carbide. As a result, regression equations that made it possible to achieve high and stable strength properties were obtained.
