On the Issue of Influence of Nonmetallic Inclusions and Chemical Composition of 20GL Steel on the Impact Strength of Freight Car Castings

Abstract
On the basis of statistical and X-ray spectral microanalyses, the paper examines the issues of various relationships between the results of KCV–60 impact toughness for the entire period of 2020–2022, nonmetallic inclusions (NMI) in samples, and the chemical composition of low-alloy cast 20GL steel, obtained in electric arc furnaces and used for freight car bogies, in particular, for critical castings: side frame and spring beam.
