Mechanical Properties of Ice Composites Reinforced with Cellulose Microfibers and Nanoparticles

Abstract
The article presents the results of an experimental study of the reinforcement of fresh ice by microfibers and cellulose nanoparticles chaotically distributed throughout its volume with different dispersion and content in the ice composite (IC). It has been shown that, at an optimal filler concentration (~5 wt %), it is possible to achieve a sixfold strengthening of IC compared to pure ice.
