The Effect of Water on the Fine Structure of Technora Aromatic Polyamide Fibers

Abstract
The effect of water pretreatment at 20 and 100°C on the quantitative parameters of water vapor sorption by Technora T200 copolymer aramid fibers was studied. Isotherms of active site-bound and cluster-bound water were calculated. Using the sorption data and the van Krevelen additive method, the fraction of ordered water-impermeable particles and its change under the influence of water were estimated.
