Abstract <p>The paper considers the classification of powder materials. The main groups of technological operations required to obtain powders have been presented. The methods of obtaining powder materials and their structure have been considered. It has been shown that the metallic components of powder materials provide high thermal conductivity and run-in ability, while nonmetallic components increase the friction coefficient and reduce the tendency to seizing.</p>
