Abstract

The viscoelastic properties of epoxy polymers modified with polyetherimide are studied in this work with a dynamic mechanical analysis. It was found that the introduction of a modifier into epoxy oligomer in an amount of 5–15 parts by weight increases the glass transition temperature and cross-linking density of the polymers. The structure of the modified systems is studied with a scanning electron microscopy. It was found that an increase in an amount of polyetherimide in the epoxy binder leads to an increase in number and size of dispersed particles enriched with thermoplastic.
