Abstract <p>The review presents the production, properties, and application of new fire retardants for reducing the flammability of composite materials based on condensation polymers. The properties of composite materials based on epoxy resins are considered primarily, as they are the most popular and possess a range of valuable properties. It is shown that one promising area of research is the search for synergistic effects of reducing flammability and fire protection through the use of fire retardants based on precursors of various natures.</p>
