Development of a Scheme and Method for Producing Silicon Carbides in the Surface Layer of a Copper Slag Particle for Waterjet Cutting

Abstract
In this work, it is proposed to carry out a chemical–thermal synthesis of stable interatomic bonds between the atoms of copper slag particles and a carbon-containing substance, thereby obtaining a silicon carbide compound in the abrasive’ surface layer, which will increase the abrasive particle surface layer’s strength for waterjet cutting.
