The Effect of Calcium Carbonate on the Properties of Sealing Compositions Based on Low-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene

The results of studies on the effect of fillers—calcium carbonate of the MTD-2 and Omyakarb 3T brands—on the physical and mechanical properties as well as viscosity of uncured sealants based on low-molecular-weight polyethylene are presented. The optimum composition of the sealing composition is found. The composition of the sealing material is safe upon contact with human skin, which makes it possible to manually apply it when assembling structures. Sealants of such a type are applied for temporary sealing upon assembling structures in mechanical engineering and in the production of chilling equipment.
