Abstract <p>This electron microscopy study of phytoplankton from a nameless lake in the adjacent territory of the Ust-Lena Reserve made it possible to describe a new species of diatoms of the genus <i>Witkowskia</i>—<i>W.&#xa0;makarovae</i> Genkal et Gabyshev, sp. nov. This species is similar to <i>W</i>. <i>ignorata</i> and <i>W</i>. <i>baikaloelginensis</i>, but differs from them by a larger number of areolae in 10 µm and the absence of stigma in the central area.</p>

Abstract

This electron microscopy study of phytoplankton from a nameless lake in the adjacent territory of the Ust-Lena Reserve made it possible to describe a new species of diatoms of the genus Witkowskia—W. makarovae Genkal et Gabyshev, sp. nov. This species is similar to W. ignorata and W. baikaloelginensis, but differs from them by a larger number of areolae in 10 µm and the absence of stigma in the central area.
