Abstract <p>A mathematical model of the process of heating a cylindrical domain with the help of heat sources located in it is considered under the assumption that heat exchange with the environment on the lateral surface occurs in accordance with Newton’s law. The heating process is controlled by introducing or removing cooling elements. The estimation of the maximum possible duration of this process is given, depending on a given temperature regime.</p>
