Full-Waveform Seismic Simulation Using Spectral Element Method and Its Massively Parallel Implementation on MSU-270 Supercomputer
摘要
Abstract
The article considers a three-dimensional dynamic problem of elasticity theory in the context of full-scale modeling of seismic exploration in geological environments on the example of an Western Siberia oilfield with an area of about 200 square kilometers. The solution algorithm is based on the Spectral Element Method (SEM) for numerical modeling in inhomogeneous three-dimensional media with sharply changing rock properties using an explicit time integration scheme. The technical aspects of implementing this algorithm on MultiGPU system using CUDA technology are considered. The efficiency of parallelization on hybrid MSU-270 supercomputer with different SEM orders and parameters of the numerical time integration scheme is analyzed.
