Wavelet Frames on Generalized Vilenkin Groups

Abstract
Wavelet systems on the generalized Vilenkin groups and theirapproximation properties are studied. An algorithmic method forconstructing compactly supported tight wavelet frames is given.These results generalize similar studies for the classicalVilenkin groups, and, on the other hand, they are closely relatedto the recent investigations on the spaces of M-positive vectors.
