On the Diffraction Problem of Acoustic Wave by a Thin Plane Screen

Abstract
Diffraction problem of harmonic acoustic wave by a thin plane screen in a homogeneous medium is reduced to integral equations in the case of Cartesian coordinates and in the case of cylindrical coordinates. To justify the limiting transition to the screen plane, special classes of generalized functions are constructed. Generalized functions are considered as linear continuous functionals on sets of linear combinations of basic functions, as which Hermite functions and Laguerre functions are used. Infinite sets of linear algebraic equations have been obtained, equivalent to the original diffraction problem.
