An Enhanced Mixed Moving Average—Homogeneously Weighted Moving Average Control Chart to Monitor the Mean Process
摘要
Control charts, such as the moving average (MA) and homogeneously weighted moving average (HWMA) control chart, are commonly used to monitor tiny to moderate changes in the process mean. The mixed control chart methodology was utilized to enhance detection capability. The main objective of this work is to create a new control chart with a mix of moving average control chart and homogeneously weighted moving average control chart (MA-HWMA) for monitoring the mean process. The control chart’s performance is determined utilizing the average run length (ARL). A comprehensive evaluation is conducted among the moving average chart (MA), the homogeneously weighted moving average chart (HWMA), the proposed chart, and the mix HWMA-MA chart. The general findings illustrate that the suggested chart is the best control chart for identifying tiny shifts, while the MA chart recognizes major shifts more well than others. Utilizing the proposed control chart with the rainfall dataset provided results that were consistent with the research discoveries.
