Complex Atlases of the Feoria Publishing House

This article is devoted to the peculiarities of the methodology of content development, design, expressive means of complex atlases published by the Feoria Publishing House. The developers of the atlases initially focused on the need, on the one hand, to rely on classical cartography as a fundamental tradition and, on the other hand, to create projects in a new way expressing the features, meanings, images, and symbols of the space of northern Eurasia (NE). For this purpose, a methodology has been developed for the selection, construction, and presentation of material, the principles of which are described in the article. The atlases are primarily focused on the expression of historical and cultural heritage, the culture of ethnic groups, and forms of interaction with nature among themselves. Given the completeness of spatial information and representations of the essential qualities of regions, atlases became a kind of geo interfaces to the world of knowledge about them and the continent as a whole.
