Impact of Earthquake Migration on the Structure and Dynamics of Diffuse Seismicity in Some Sections of the Tan-Lu Fault System

The impact of earthquake migration on the dynamics and structure of minor seismicity in the areas adjacent to the Tan-Lu fault system in Russia was investigated based on the analysis of temporal variation of M ≥ 2.5 earthquake occurrences in Priamurye at different time intervals from 1960 to 2024. Directions and velocities of earthquake epicenter migration, periods of seismic activity, and distinctive features and types of interactions between earthquake migration and minor scattered seismicity were determined in some sections of the Tan-Lu fault system. A mechanism was proposed for the impact of earthquake migration on the dynamics and structure of diffuse seismicity. The nature of minor seismicity evolution over the past 50 years, together with the computed parameters of migration chains, the number of minor earthquakes by decades and the distribution of seismic events by magnitude, give an idea of the current geodynamics of Priamurye, including some faults of the Tan-Lu system.
