<b>Abstract</b>— <p>The diffuse reflection of light from the surface of the fluorescence detector mirror can distort the interpretation of data. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the diffuse reflection factor from the surface of the main mirror of the detector. A method of measuring diffuse reflection by comparison with a test object has been applied and the diffuse reflection factor of the TUS mirror prototype has been measured. The value of the diffuse reflection factor <i>r</i><sub>d</sub> = 0.41 ± 0.19% will be used to correct the data interpretation methodology.</p>
