Beam Dynamics in Modernized Cyclotron C-80 and Transport System

Abstract—The results of modeling of hydrogen ion dynamics in modernized cyclotron C‑80, which has two channels of beam output of different intensities for the production of radionuclides and therapy of ophthalmic oncological diseases, are presented. The beams will be outputted by recharging the H-ions followed by the release of protons. For the production of radionuclides, a proton beam with energy in a range of 40–80 MeV and a current of at least 100 µA, and, for ophthalmic oncological treatment, a beam with an energy of 70 MeV and a current of about 1 µA will be outputted from the cyclotron. Systems for transportation of therapeutic and radioisotope beams have been developed.
