Development Projects for the Hadron Accelerator Complex at the NRC Kurchatov Institute—IHEP
摘要
Abstract
This paper outlines three authorized development projects for the U-70 operating accelerator complex aimed at extending its capabilities of using accelerated proton and carbon-nuclei beams for applied purposes. They comprise a pulsed spallation neutron source using the beam from the U-1.5 rapid-cycled proton synchrotron and two facilities for carbon ion beam therapy: an experimental one, using the beam from the existing U-70 synchrotron, and a standard one, based on a new dedicated carbon-beam synchrotron.
