<b>Abstract</b>— <p>The article provides an assessment of the state of the housing sector in the context of the subjects of the Russian Federation based on the calculation of an integral index, which includes indicators characterizing the level of provision of the population with housing, the quality of the housing stock, the volume of housing construction, and an assessment of housing capital per capita. The analysis was conducted on the basis of a typology of regions in a two-dimensional space, highlighting the integral index of the quality of the housing sector, on the one hand, and the financial affordability for the population to purchase housing on the market, on the other.</p>
