Adaptation of the Forest Complex of the Komi Republic to Sanctions Pressure
摘要
The current results of adaptation of the forestry complex of the Komi Republic to unfavorable foreign economic conditions in 2022–2023 are analyzed. The dynamics of resource efficiency of enterprises, changes in the product line, and parameters of the main investment projects of previous years are shown. Based on a survey of enterprise managers, the impact of sanctions on their activities and ways to mitigate it are revealed. A scenario forecast has been made for changes in the efficiency of wood use in the region’s forestry complex for the period up to 2030. In the short term, predominantly negative consequences of sanctions are noted: loss of foreign markets, rise in price of financial resources, problems with the supply of imported components. The main strategy of activity in the coming years is a reorientation “from West to East” without significant changes in economic policy. However, in relation to the long term, we should think about revising the economic paradigm, about the transition from purely market mechanisms and interests to a more social, human-oriented pattern.
