Abstract <p>1,2,4-Thiadiazole, 1,3-thiazole, and cyclobutanecarbonitrile derivatives have been synthesized from (2<i>E</i>,4<i>E</i>)-2-cyano-5-phenylpenta-2,4-dienethioamide. The structure of the synthesized compounds was studied by spectral methods and X-ray analysis.</p>
