[BMIM]BF4-Mediated One-Pot Synthesis of 1,3-Dimethylpyrimidine-2,4-dione Derivatives Containing a 2H-Chromene Moiety

Abstract
The chromenopyrimidine scaffold is an important building block for many medicinally active new chemicals. In the current work, a series of 2H-chromene 1,3-dimethylpyrimidine-2,4-dione derivatives have been synthesized by a one-pot three-component reaction between 4-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-one, substituted benzaldehydes, and 6-amino-1,3-dimethylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione 3 at 65–70°C for 30–40 min using [BMIM]BF4 as green reaction medium.
