摘要

Abstract

In the first step of this research, new acetylsalicylic acid derivatives 2 were synthesized by the reaction of thiosemicarbazide with the carbonyl group of esters in the presence of sulfuric acid. In the second step, an azo compound 3 was prepared by the reaction of acetylsalicylic acid derivatives 2 with p-phenylenediamine in fresh HCl/NaNO2 at 0–5°C; and the third step involved synthesizing compound 4 by the reaction of copper acetate with the azo compound 3. All the synthesized compounds were characterized via spectral analysis techniques, including FT-IR, 1H NMR, and scanning electron microscope (SEM) of the thiadiazoles derived from aspirin. Finally, the cytotoxicity activities of the aspirin derivatives were evaluated using two types of cancer cell lines (MCF-7 and WRL-68); this evaluation showed their clear activity in the cancer cell lines.
