Synthesis and Biological Activity of Some New 1,3,4-Oxadiazoles Derived from Carboxylic Acids

Abstract
A series of novel 2,2′-([1,1′-biphenyl]-4,4′-diyl)bis(1,3,4-oxadiazole) derivatives were synthesized starting from the corresponding carboxylic acids. The synthesized compounds were identified by spectral methods, including FT-IR and 1H NMR. Their physical and toxicological properties were predicted in silico, and molecular docking study was performed. The prepared compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial activity against two gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus) and two gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) bacterial strains, as well as liver enzymes.
