Synthesis and Structure of New Iodine-Containing Derivatives of 2-Hydroxybenzo[e][1,2]oxaphosphinine-2-oxide

Abstract
The reaction of 2-hydroxybenzo[e][1,2]oxaphosphinine-2-oxides with elemental iodine afforded the first representatives of iodine-containing derivatives of 2-hydroxybenzo[e][1,2]oxaphosphinine-2-oxides: 2-hydroxy-3-iodo-5,7,8-trimethylbenzo[e][1,2]oxaphosphinine 2-oxide, 2-hydroxy-3-iodo[1,3]dioxolo[4',5':4,5]benzo[1,2-e][1,2]oxaphosphinine 2-oxide, 3-hydroxy-2-iodonaphtho[1,2-e][1,2]oxaphosphine 3-oxide, and 6,8-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxy-3-iodobenzo[e][1,2]oxaphosphinine 2-oxide. The structures of all synthesized compounds were proved by 1H, 13C, 31P NMR, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry (ESI), elemental analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction data.
