Abstract <p>The reaction of 2-hydroxybenzo[<i>e</i>][1,2]oxaphosphinine-2-oxides with elemental iodine afforded the first representatives of iodine-containing derivatives of 2-hydroxybenzo[<i>e</i>][1,2]oxaphosphinine-2-oxides: 2-hydroxy-3-iodo-5,7,8-trimethylbenzo[<i>e</i>][1,2]oxaphosphinine 2-oxide, 2-hydroxy-3-iodo[1,3]dioxolo[4',5':4,5]benzo[1,2-<i>e</i>][1,2]oxaphosphinine 2-oxide, 3-hydroxy-2-iodonaphtho[1,2-<i>e</i>][1,2]oxaphosphine 3-oxide, and 6,8-di-<i>tert</i>-butyl-2-hydroxy-3-iodobenzo[<i>e</i>][1,2]oxaphosphinine 2-oxide. The structures of all synthesized compounds were proved by <sup>1</sup>H, <sup>13</sup>C, <sup>31</sup>P NMR, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry (ESI), elemental analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction data.</p>

Abstract
