Abstract <p>The synthesis of <i>N</i>-benzoylmethylamides of <i>N</i>-substituted α,β-dehydroamino acids and the corresponding 4<i>H</i>-imidazol-4-ones was carried out; their antibacterial, antifungal, and antiradical properties were studied. It was shown that among them, the compounds containing a nitro group in the <i>meta</i>- or <i>para</i>-position of the benzene ring of the arylidene residue exhibited the highest activity against <i>E. coli</i>, <i>St. aureus</i>, and <i>Candida albicans</i>.</p>

Abstract

The synthesis of N-benzoylmethylamides of N-substituted α,β-dehydroamino acids and the corresponding 4H-imidazol-4-ones was carried out; their antibacterial, antifungal, and antiradical properties were studied. It was shown that among them, the compounds containing a nitro group in the meta- or para-position of the benzene ring of the arylidene residue exhibited the highest activity against E. coli, St. aureus, and Candida albicans.
