Abstract <p>A series of 2-hydrazinylpyrimidin-4-ones was obtained by the reaction of hydrazine hydrate with <i>S</i>-methyl-2-thiouracil derivatives. The resulting compounds were reacted with chloroethynylphosphonates resulting in new phosphonylated dihydroformazans containing pyrimidin-2-yl-4-one fragments.</p>
