Abstract <p>An effective approach was developed to the synthesis of dicarbazoles and carbazole–tetrahydrocarbazole hybrids tethered via di- or triethylene glycol spacers. These polyether spacers are susceptible to metabolic cleavage, enabling targeted delivery of the bioactive moiety to functionally important enzyme active sites.</p>
