Synthesis of Dicarbazoles and Carbazole-(2,3,4,9-tetrahydro-1H-carbazoles) Linked by Polyether Spacers

Abstract
An effective approach was developed to the synthesis of dicarbazoles and carbazole–tetrahydrocarbazole hybrids tethered via di- or triethylene glycol spacers. These polyether spacers are susceptible to metabolic cleavage, enabling targeted delivery of the bioactive moiety to functionally important enzyme active sites.
