Abstract <p>A new approach was proposed for the synthesis of the 3<i>H</i>-benzo[<i>d</i>][1,2]oxaphospholes ethyl esters by the three-component acid-catalyzed reaction of triethylphosphite with carbonyl compounds and phenols. It allows obtaining target structures in one synthetic step from available reagents. Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid was shown to be an effective catalyst for the process.</p>
