Abstract <p>[(EuL<sub>3</sub>)(H<sub>2</sub>O)(MeOH)](MeOH), a convenient precursor to heterometallic complexes, has been synthesized for the first time using a functionalized lithium CF<sub>3</sub>-β-diketonate. Photoluminescent properties of a series of solid heterometallic europium(III) diketonates with the isomeric [EuL<sub>4</sub>] structure, prepared from the acetal-containing CF<sub>3</sub>-β-diketonate, have been investigated. The luminescent parameters of the tetrakis-diketonates [LiEuL<sub>4</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O)](CH<sub>3</sub>CN), [(EuL<sub>3</sub>)(LiL)(MeOH)], as well as the new [(KEuL<sub>4</sub>)(H<sub>2</sub>O)]<sub><i>n</i></sub>, have been compared.</p>

Abstract

[(EuL3)(H2O)(MeOH)](MeOH), a convenient precursor to heterometallic complexes, has been synthesized for the first time using a functionalized lithium CF3-β-diketonate.
