Abstract <p>A new approach was proposed to the synthesis of heteropolycycles with pyrido[3,2,1-<i>jk</i>]carbazole, pyrido[1,2-<i>a</i>]indole, and epoxy[1,4]oxazepine cores based on the use of <i>N</i>-epoxymethylated carbazolone-1 and 2-benzoyl-3-methylindole derivatives as starting materials.</p>
