Synthesis of KH590 Surface Modification Nano Silver Sol and Its Application in Interior Wall Coatings
摘要
γ-Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (KH590) surface modified smaller nano silver sol was obtained by using 10–1 mol/L silver nitrate aqueous solution as precursor through a wet-chemical route. 1,2-Propanediol was used as both solvent and reductant. The formation of nano silver sol was investigated by adjusting the reaction temperature. The size and morphology of the obtained nano silver sol were characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry, transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectrometry. Nano silver sol was used as antibacterial agent to prepare interior wall coatings and its antibacterial properties against gram-negative Escherichia coli and gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus were studied. The results showed that the size of the synthesized nano silver sol with a narrow size distribution is in the range of 2.76–7.42 nm as the reaction temperature increases from 60 to 100°C under the other reaction conditions unchanged. The nano silver sol and interior wall coatings containing nano silver sol could give a good antibacterial performance and properties increase as the size of nano silver sol decrease.
