Abstract <p>Friedel–Crafts acylation reactions of methyl 4<i>H</i>-thieno[3,2-<i>b</i>]pyrrolecarboxylate derivatives were studied. A new series of isoquinoline derivatives was prepared as a result of acylation of methyl 4-benzyl(2,3-dimethoxybenzyl)thieno[3,2-<i>b</i>]pyrrolecarboxylates with the acids chlorides.</p>
