Toxicity of Ricin in Humans Following Oral Administration
摘要
The relevance of this study stems from the need to quantify the toxicity of ricin when ingested orally. The aim of the research was to estimate the average lethal doses of ricin for humans via oral administration, using rats as a model organism for the prediction. Formulas for predicting the average lethal doses of ricin in humans are presented. The following methods were employed for this prediction: Yu.R. Rybolovlev and R.S. Rybolovlev’s methods, the American Environmental Protection Agency’s approach, the methods of D.B. Laurence and A.L. Bacharach, and the method developed by the author of this study. The predicted values for the average lethal doses of ricin in humans, along with their average value and confidence interval, are provided.
