Hydrothermal Syntheses, Crystal Structures, and Luminescence Properties of Two Cadmium(II) Complexes Based on 3-Hydroxyisonicotinic Acid

Abstract
Two new cadmium(II) complexes [Cd0.5(HL)(bpa)0.5(H2O)]n·0.5nbpa and [Cd2(HL)2(L)(bpe)2]n·nH2L [H2L = 3-hydroxyisonicotinic acid, bpa = 1,2-bi(4-pyridyl)ethane, bpe = 1,2-bi(4-pyridyl)ethene] were synthesized by the reaction of a H2L and auxiliary N-containing ligands with Cd(II) ions under hydrothermal conditions. Obtained complexes were studied by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, powder XRD and X-ray crystallography. The thermal stability and luminescent properties of two complexes were investigated.
