Microwave-Assisted Synthesis, Molecular Docking, and Insecticidal Activity of 1,2,3-Triazole-Linked Chromone Derivatives

Abstract

The current study was carried out in an attempt to synthesize a new class of 1,2,3-triazole-linked hybrids by Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) in good yields (80–90%). Insecticidal activity of the produced 5-[(3H-1,2,3-triazol-4-ylthio)methyl]-4-(benzylideneamino)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiols was tested. All the tested compounds exhibited significant activity against Plodia interpunctella. In silico analysis using a target receptor (PDB ID: 2KHA) through molecular docking revealed that the synthetic hybrid molecules could be effective as insecticidal agents. The molecular docking technique was used to determine the binding energy between the receptor and some of the synthesized compounds.
