Structural Parameters of the Nearest Environment of Zinc, Cadmium, and Mercury Ions in Aqueous Solutions of Their Salts (A Review)

Abstract
The published results of various research methods and own experimental data on the structural characteristics of the nearest environment of zinc, cadmium, and mercury ions in aqueous solutions of their salts under standard conditions are summarized. Structural parameters, such as coordination numbers, interparticle distances, characteristics of the second coordination spheres, and ion association types, are discussed. Conclusions are drawn about the effect of ion radius on structure formation in solutions for this group of d-elements.
