Influence of the Synthesis and Crystallization Conditions on the Compositions and Structures of Mixed-Carboxylate Europium(III) Benzoate‒Pentafluorobenzoate Complexes
摘要
The influence of the nature of solvate molecules and N-donor ligands on the structure of the europium benzoate‒pentafluorobenzoate complexes is studied. The reactions of europium benzoate (Bz) and pentafluorobenzoate (Pfb) with 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) in acetonitrile with toluene, o-xylene, or dichloromethane afford compounds of similar structures: [Eu2(Phen)2(Pfb)4(Bz)2]·4C6H5CH3 (I), [Eu2(Phen)2(Pfb)4(Bz)2]·4С6Н4(CH3)2 (II), and [Eu2(Phen)2(Pfb)4(Bz)2]·2.898CH2Cl2 (III), respectively. The use of quinoline (Quin) allows one to isolate crystals of mixed-carboxylate coordination polymer [Eu(H2O)(Pfb)2(Bz)]n·2n(Quin) (IV). The synthesized compounds are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), IR spectroscopy, and CHN analysis. Noncovalent interactions are analyzed using Hirshfeld surface analysis.
