Abstract <p>In recent years, the trend towards developing more efficient and green approaches to the synthesis of chemical compounds has engulfed new areas of chemistry, including organometallic synthesis. In this work, the peculiarities of direct cyclopalladation of <i>m</i>-phenylenediamine-based bis(thioamide) ligands are studied both in solution and in the absence of a solvent in order to estimate the possibility of obtaining target Pd(II) pincer complexes using a more ecologically friendly methodology.</p>
