On the Velocities of Wave Structures in the Earth’s Outer Core
摘要
Abstract
Assuming the existence of a thin layer enriched with light admixture within the iron melt at the core-mantle boundary, and considering the latitudinal gradient of the geomagnetic field and angular velocity of the Earth’s rotation, a system of nonlinear equations is derived to describe the large-scale wave structures propagating in this layer. In the linear approximation, a dispersion relation for the wave structures is obtained, and the frequencies and velocities of these structures are calculated.
