Abstract <p>It is shown that soil plasticity is a consequence of stresses and deformations in soils arising under the influence of various “external” and “internal” loads. In the course of its functioning, the soil is subject to numerous various stresses and deformations leading to the soil mass movement both within the profile to a maximal distance of tens of centimeters and in the landscape to a significant distance (tens, hundreds and thousands of meters) owing to erosion.</p>
