<b>Abstract</b>— <p>Spatial variation of the morphological features, ash content, humus content, pH<sub>KCl</sub>, particle-size distribution, and hygroscopic and field moisture in the profiles of iron-illuvial and raw-humus podzols in the North Sakhalin Lowland is considered. These soils develop from coarse-textured rocks under larch (<i>Larix dahurica</i>) woodlands with Siberian dwarf pine (<i>Pinus pumila</i>). Statistical characteristics of the variation of the indicators have been obtained for the litter (O), raw-humus (Oao), eluvial (E), iron-illuvial (BF), iron–humus-illuvial (BHF), transitional (BCf), and parent material (C) horizons. The eluvial E horizon has a small thickness varying from 3 to 11 cm and the following characteristic morphological features: whitish color, lack of structure (single grain) with a weakly expressed tendency to horizontal layering (plating), loamy sandy and sandy texture, and a tonguing lower boundary. The BF1 horizon of iron-illuvial podzols is characterized by a rusty-brown color, the presence of small Fe–Mn nodules, the humus content of less than 2%, and a moderately acid reaction, whereas the BHF horizon of raw-humus podzols is dark brown, has a humus content of 2–5%, and a strongly acid reaction. The correlation analysis indicates that an increase in the thickness and ash content of the organic horizons O and Oao is accompanied the increase in acidity (lower pH&#xa0;values) in the illuvial BF1 and BHF horizons. A more acidic reaction of the medium in the O and Oao horizons correlates with an increase in the thickness of the E horizon.</p>
